Par Plana Vitrectomy for Juxtapapillary Capillary Retinal Angioma

Purpoe To decribe the treatment of juxtapapillary capillary angioma by par plana vitrectomy (PPV) and tumor exciion. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 6-year-old girl with ymptomatic juxtapapillary capillary retinal angioma with aociated epiretinal membrane (ERM) underwent PPV and extraction of the tumor and ERM. A clinical and molecular genetic workup for the preence of von Hippel–Lindau dieae (VHL) wa performed. Reult A favorable functional reult without tumor recurrence wa achieved. Capillary retinal angioma wa confirmed by hitology of the urgical pecimen, and familial VHL wa revealed. Concluion PPV and extraction of the tumor i applicable in juxtapapillary capillary retinal angioma with aociated ERM. A workup for the preence of VHL i pertinent in patient preenting with thi tumor entity.
