Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe a cae of orbital celluliti ariing in a patient treated with an anti-TNFα agent.
Deign
ingle interventional cae report.
Method
A 42-year-old man developed evere unilateral orbital celluliti while receiving infliximab (Remicade, Centocor) treatment for Ankyloing pondyliti (A) a part of the open-label phae of a trial conducted at our tertiary referral center. Culture grew taphylococcu aureu.
Reult
Infliximab treatment wa topped and the patient made a full recovery after receiving appropriate antibiotic therapy. Infliximab therapy wa reumed after three week.
Concluion
Clinical vigilance i warranted when treating patient with anti-TNFα agent a thee are aociated with a divere and growing number of ophthalmic complication. Reolved infection doe not preclude the ue of uch agent.
