Abstract :
Purpoe To compare the effect of topical ketorolac and indomethacin on meale conjunctiviti. Deign Propective double-maked placebo-controlled randomized trial. Method ixty-two patient with evere meale conjunctiviti were included in thi tudy. All patient were hopitalized and randomly aigned to receive ketorolac 0.5% or indomethacin 0.1% in the right eye and artificial tear in the left eye. Conjunctival hyperemia, burning enation, foreign-body enation, and photophobia core were conducted at baeline and at day even and 14. A atifaction core wa evaluated at the end of the tudy. Reult The conjunctival injection core of the control eye wa ignificantly higher than thoe of the ketorolac- and indomethacin-treated eye at day even (P < .05). The conjunctival injection core of the ketorolac-treated eye wa lower than that of the indomethacin-treated eye at day even and 14, but thi did not reach tatitical ignificance. There wa no ignificant difference in the burning and foreign-body enation and in the photophobia core among the tudy eye at baeline, day even, and day 14 (P > .05). There wa no ignificant difference in the atifaction core among the tudy eye at the end of the tudy (P > .05). Concluion In patient with meale during the firt two week of infection, ketorolac and indomethacin were more effective than artificial tear in decreaing conjunctival hyperemia, but burning enation, foreign-body enation, and photophobia were unaffected.
