Combining urgical Ablation of Retinal Inflow and Outflow Veel With Photodynamic Therapy for Retinal Angiomatou Proliferation

Purpoe To evaluate hort-term efficacy of combining urgical ablation of retinal inflow and outflow veel and photodynamic therapy (PDT) for tage 3 retinal angiomatou proliferation (RAP). Deign Propective interventional cae erie. Method Five eye (five patient) underwent urgical ablation of inflow and outflow veel and PDT for tage 3 RAP. Reult Inflow and outflow veel were ablated in four eye, and only inflow wa ablated in one eye. In four eye tarting PDT within ix week of urgical ablation, choroidal neovacularization (CNV) diappeared or hrank after one PDT eion (three month follow-up). However, CNV enlarged again in three of the four (final follow-up) becaue of reperfuion from newly formed inflow veel. In one eye tarting PDT even month after ablation, a new retinal inflow veel feeding the CNV appeared by the time of the firt PDT eion. The CNV continued to expand, depite two PDT eion. Concluion Combining urgical ablation and PDT wa not ueful on account of a high frequency of reperfuion from retinal inflow veel.
