Abstract :
Purpoe To invetigate the effect of timolol-dorzolamide and timolol-pilocarpine fixed combination on retrobulbar veel blood flow. Deign Propective, randomized, maked, croover clinical trial. Method ixteen patient with primary open angle glaucoma, treated with timolol 0.5%, received timolol 0.5%–dorzolamide 2% and timolol 0.5%–pilocarpine 2% for four week each. Heart rate, blood preure, intraocular preure (IOP), and peak ytolic (PV) and end diatolic velocitie (EDV) in ophthalmic, central retinal, and hort poterior ciliary arterie were meaured before and after each treatment, and reitivity index wa calculated. Reult The IOP wa reduced (P < .01) by timolol-dorzolamide and, more effectively, timolol-pilocarpine combination. In central retinal artery, the end diatolic velocity wa increaed by the timolol-dorzolamide combination (P < .01), reulting in higher end diatolic velocity and lower reitivity index value (both P < .01) compared with the timolol-pilocarpine combination. Concluion The timolol-dorzolamide combination increae the end diatolic velocity in central retinal artery, depite a lower intraocular preure decreae, uggeting an effect on retinal circulation.
