  • Abstract
Purpoe To tet light enitivity threhold rigorouly in patient with benign eential blepharopam (BEB) compared with patient who have known light enitivity (migraineur) and to normal control ubject. Deign Propective, obervational, cae control tudy. Method We recruited a total of 87 ubject into each of three group: BEB, migraine, and normal control ubject. A modified lit-lamp chin ret, heat hield, light meter, and halogen light that wa modulated by a rheotat were ued to meaure light enitivity threhold. Participant were teted without pectacle, with gray-tinted pectacle, and with FL-41–tinted pectacle. Reult Light dicomfort threhold for ubject with BEB were ignificantly lower compared with normal control ubject (P ≤ .009) and imilar to the migraine group. Both gray and FL-41–tinted lene improved light enitivity threhold in all group (P ≤ .0005). There wa no oberved difference in the improvement in light enitivity when the gray and FL-41–tinted lene were compared. Concluion Patient with BEB are coniderably more enitive to light than control ubject and a enitive to light a patient with migraine. Phyician who care for patient with BEB hould conider uing tinted lene to help ameliorate ymptom.
