Abstract :
Purpoe
To compare the central corneal thickne (CCT) meaurement obtained with noncontact optical low-coherence reflectometry (OLCR) and ultraound (U) pachymetry.
Deign
Propective, comparative obervational tudy.
Method
Three equential ultraonic meaurement and a et of five OLCR can of 52 eye of 26 healthy ubject were recorded. Noncontact meaurement wa repeated five minute after anethetic drop intillation.
Reult
Mean CCT value for noncontact OLCR and U pachymetry were 544.03 μm and 548.66 μm, repectively, with mean D of 0.97 μm and 4.63 μm, repectively. Noncontact OLCR meaured on average 4.64 μm le than U pachymetry (95% confidence interval −7.56 to −1.72; P = .003). The OLCR meaured 1.68 μm le than U pachymetry in the thinner cornea group (≤548.7 μm, n = 24) and 7.48 μm le in the thicker group (n = 25). Thi difference wa tatitically ignificant (P = .04).
Concluion
There wa agreement between the two pachymetric meaurement. Noncontact OLCR appeared to meaure lightly maller than U pachymetry.
