Abstract :
Purpoe
To determine the effect of hopitalization on intraocular preure (IOP) in glaucoma patient.
Deign
Propective cae erie.
Method
IOP wa meaured on three conecutive day in 26 high-tenion (HTG) and 13 normal-tenion (NTGwm) glaucoma patient under IOP-lowering treatment, and in 28 normal-tenion glaucoma patient without IOP-lowering treatment (NTGnm), and change wa compared by analyi of variance.
Reult
IOP decreaed ignificantly, but comparably, in the three group and between right and left eye, although, the relative change to IOP on day 1 wa ignificantly le pronounced in the group without treatment on day 2 and 3 compared with the treated group.
Concluion
Glaucoma patient howed a ignificant decreae in IOP during hopitalization. Although thi decreae wa more pronounced among the treated patient, it wa alo preent in nontreated patient. Conequently, other factor than improved compliance during hopitalization mut play a role in thi phenomenon.
