Abstract :
Purpoe To examine tereopi in myopic refractive urgery patient undergoing equential bilateral and unilateral treatment. Deign Propective, obervational, cohort tudy. Method etting: Clinical practice. patient: Eighty-three patient were tudied; 55 had equential bilateral and 28 had unilateral treatment. Mean age wa 32 year. tereopi wa meaured uing a multitarget red-green anaglyph tereo viion tet. Only patient with fine preoperative tereopi were included in the tudy. Repeat meaurement were taken one week laer-aited in itu keratomileui (LAIK) or three week laer epithelial keratomileui (LAEK) after treatment of one eye in all patient. Further meaurement were taken at ix and 12 week in unilaterally treated patient and after treatment of the fellow eye in bilaterally treated patient. Reult A total of 38.6% of patient retained fine tereopi (28 to 41 econd of arc) over a range of aniometropia from 0.625 to 4.375. Moderate tereopi (66 to 526 econd of arc) wa recorded 28.9% in the preence of 1.375 to 5.525 diopter of aniometropia. Poor/abent tereopi (≤2000 econd of arc) wa found in 32.5% in the preence of 2.1 to 8.0 diopter of aniometropia. A trong correlation wa found between tereopi and aniometropia, but interpatient variability wa found. Uncorrected viual acuity (UCVA) in the untreated eye of ≥20/200 wa aociated with retention of fine tereopi. Unilaterally treated patient howed improvement in tereopi at ix week after urgery. equential bilateral treatment had no deleteriou effect on tereopi. Concluion Lo of tereopi wa trongly correlated with aniometropia. UCVA in the untreated eye wa a good indicator of potoperative tereopi. tereopi improved during the potoperative adaptation period in unilateral treatment. Bilateral equential treatment ha no long-term effect on tereopi.
