Abstract
Purpoe
To evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal tiue plaminogen activator (tPA) injection for branch retinal vein occluion (BRVO).
Deign
Retropective, interventional cae erie.
Method
eventeen eye preenting with macular edema caued by BRVO were treated with an intravitreal tPA (Monteplae, 40 k IU) injection. We aeed the viual acuity (VA) and foveal thickne meaured with optical coherence tomography.
Reult
The mean duration of ymptom before urgery wa 3.6 ± 3.8 week. The mean logMAR VA ignificantly improved from 0.603 ± 0.327 at baeline to 0.388 ± 0.248 (P < .01) at one month and 0.359 ± 0.319 (P < .05) at ix month. The mean foveal thickne ignificantly decreaed from 738 ± 156 μm at baeline to 454 ± 213 μm (P < .001) at one month and 253 ± 164 μm (P < .001) ix month.
Concluion
Intravitreal tPA injection may be an effective treatment for reolving macular edema and improving the VA in BRVO.
