Combined Photodynamic Therapy and Intravitreal Triamcinolone Acetonide for the Treatment of Myopic ubfoveal Choroidal Neovacularization

Purpoe To evaluate viual acuity change and afety of combined treatment with photodynamic therapy (PDT) and intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) in myopic eye with choroidal neovacularization (CNV). Deign Propective interventional cae erie. Method Twelve eye of 12 patient with ubfoveal myopic CNV were treated with PDT followed by IVTA within a week. Change in viual acuity and poible complication related to the combined therapy were aeed in periodic viit. Reult After combined therapy, a ignificant increae in mean viual acuity wa oberved at one, three, and ix month. A ignificant increae of mean intraocular preure wa oberved after even day, one month, and three month. Ten patient (83%) required topical antiglaucomatou therapy during follow-up. Concluion The combination of PDT and IVTA may increae the poibility of improving or tabilizing viual acuity in patient with ubfoveal myopic CNV, but further tudie are needed to ae the effect of thi treatment.
