Optic Nerve heath Meningioma: Viual Improvement During Radiation Treatment

Purpoe To decribe four patient with optic nerve heath meningioma in whom viual improvement began to occur even before completion of a tandard coure of radiation therapy. Deign Retropective cae review. Method A review wa conducted of 35 patient who received tereotactic three-dimenional conformal radiotherapy for optic nerve heath meningioma from 1990 to 2005. Reult Four patient with radiographic confirmation of optic nerve heath meningioma were identified who had neuro-ophthalmologic aement, which included perimetry, either while radiation treatment wa underway or immediately afterward. All of the patient howed improvement in viual acuity and viual field. Concluion A rapid repone to radiation therapy may occur in ome patient with optic nerve heath meningioma. In uch patient, it may be poible to cutomize the radiation doe by aeing of viual function during the coure of therapy.
