Natural Coure of Macular Retinochii in Highly Myopic Eye Without Macular Hole or Retinal Detachment

Purpoe To invetigate the natural coure of macular retinochii in highly myopic patient. Deign A propective, obervational cae erie. Method even conecutive patient (eight eye) with macular retinochii without macular hole or retinal detachment determined by optical coherence tomography (OCT) were followed at leat two year without urgical intervention. The change in the OCT finding and bet-corrected viual acuity (BCVA) were analyzed. Reult During follow-up, two eye that had vitreoretinal adheion developed a macular hole, one with and one without retinal detachment (RD), and two eye without detectable vitreoretinal adheion developed RD without a macular hole. BCVA in thee four eye wa ignificantly reduced. The remaining four eye did not develop complication, although the thickne of the macula increaed ignificantly. Concluion Thee finding ugget that macular retinochii might be a progreive condition, and that complication appeared to be related to the preence of vitreoretinal traction.
