Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe the incidence and clinical characteritic of polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (PCV) aociated with choroidal vacular hyperpermeability.
Deign
Retropective obervational cae erie.
Method
We reviewed the medical record of 122 conecutive eye with PCV and 106 conecutive eye with exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green (ICG) angiography were performed uing a confocal canning laer ytem. In the midphae of ICG angiography, we evaluated choroidal vacular hyperpermeability, which i recognized a one of the characteritic finding in central erou chorioretinopathy (CC). Choroidal vacular hyperpermeability appeared a multifocal patchy area of hyperfluorecence with blurred margin within the choroid that increaed in intenity with time after injection of the dye.
Reult
Of 122 eye with PCV, 12 (9.8%) eye of 10 patient exhibited multifocal choroidal hyperfluorecence in the midphae of ICG angiography, wherea two (1.9%) of 106 eye with exudative AMD howed a imilar appearance (P = .013). Of the 12 eye in 10 patient with PCV that demontrated multifocal choroidal hyperfluorecence, we alo noted that the early phae of ICG angiography howed choroidal filling delay in even eye (58%) and venou dilation in 12 eye (100%). Four of thee 12 eye (33%) had a medical hitory of CC, and nine (90%) of the 10 patient revealed multifocal choroidal hyperfluorecence bilaterally.
Concluion
Multifocal choroidal hyperfluorecence een by ICG angiography occur more frequently in eye with PCV than in thoe with AMD. Choroidal vacular hyperpermeability, reportedly a characteritic finding in CC, might be one of the rik factor of PCV.
