Tranpupillary Argon Laer Photocoagulation and Nd:YAG Laer Cytotomy for Peripheral Iri Pigment Epithelium Cyt

Purpoe To report the ue of a combination of tranpupillary argon laer photocoagulation and Nd:YAG laer cytotomy in the treatment of peripheral iri pigment epithelium (IPE) cyt. Deign Cae report. Method A 23-year-old man preented with a one-month hitory of blurred viion and pain in the right eye. lit-lamp biomicrocopy and goniocopy revealed, in the iridociliary ulcu, a large clear IPE cyt, which wa demontrated by ultraound biomicrocopy (UBM). A combination of tranpupillary photocoagulation to devitalize the epithelial lining and neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laer cytotomy to drain the cyt wa engaged. Reult Laer treatment reulted in vanihing of the cyt and diappearance of the ubject ymptom. Two month potoperatively, no evidence exited of the iri pigment cyt regrowth. Concluion The minimal invaivene of the combination of tranpupillary laer photocoagulation and cytotomy yielded a favorable reult. Thi procedure may be an alternative to conervative regimen if IPE cyt i clearly defined and readily een.
