Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the effect of intraocular len (IOL) color on frequency doubling technology (FDT).
Deign
Randomized clinical trial.
Method
For 26 eye of 26 patient, FDT perimetry (24−2-threhold tet) wa meaured three month after cataract urgery. An acrylic IOL wa randomly elected from clear (VA60BB, HOYA) and yellow-tinted lene (YA60BB, HOYA), which only differed by color. A a control, a further 14 cataractou eye with viual acuity ≥20/30 were examined. We analyzed mean deviation (MD) and pattern tandard deviation (PD) among the three group.
Reult
After cataract urgery, MD ignificantly improved (Fiher protected leat ignificant difference (PLD): P < .05), but PD did not change (analyi of variance (ANOVA): P = .94) compared with control value. There wa no ignificant difference between the two IOL for either MD (Mann-Whitney tet; P = .15) or PD (Mann-Whitney tet; P = .84).
Concluion
When interpreting the reult of FDT, the effect of cataract hould be conidered but that of IOL color doe not need conideration.
