Abstract :
Purpoe
To report on the development of retinal pigment epithelium tear after intravitreal injection of bevacizumab a treatment of exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
The tudy included 63 patient who received an intravitreal injection of 1.5 mg bevacizumab a treatment of a detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium attributable to AMD and who had a follow-up of at leat two month.
Reult
Four patient (6%) developed a tear of the retinal pigment epithelium in the parafoveal region. Compared with the baeline value, viual acuity at the end of follow-up remained table in three patient and declined in the fourth patient.
Concluion
Intravitreal injection of bevacizumab may be followed by a tear of the retinal pigment epithelium in eye with exudative AMD and a retinal pigment epithelium detachment.
