Retinal Pigment Epithelial Tear After Intravitreal Bevacizumab Injection

Purpoe To report two cae of a retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) tear after intravitreal bevacizumab injection for exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Two patient preented with occult choroidal neovacularization econdary to AMD. Both patient received intravitreal bevacizumab injection. Reult The firt patient developed a RPE tear hortly after a third intravitreal bevacizumab injection. The econd patient developed a RPE tear 10 day after a econd intravitreal bevacizumab injection. Concluion Although RPE tear may occur pontaneouly a part of the natural hitory of exudative AMD, patient may develop viually devatating RPE tear after repeat intravitreal bevacizumab injection. Further tudie are needed to determine the incidence of RPE tear after intravitreal bevacizumab injection.
