Abstract :
Purpoe
To compare meaurement of anterior chamber depth (ACD) and corneal curvature obtained with the Pentacam to other commonly ued device.
Deign
Propective, nonrandomized clinical trial.
Method
Meaurement of ACD and keratometry were propectively obtained in 22 eye of 11 ubject with the Pentacam compared with meaurement of the ultraound (U) A-can and IOLMater (ACD), and with thoe of automated keratometry (AK) and IOLMater (keratometry) at the Aaf Harofeh Medical Center.
Reult
The mean interdevice difference in keratometry for Pentacam v AK, Pentacam v IOLMater, and AK v IOLMater were −0.046 diopter, −0.471 diopter, and −0.424 diopter, repectively. Meaurement of keratometry by the IOLMater differed tatitically ignificantly from thoe of Pentacam (P < .01) and AK (P < .01). For meaurement of keratometry, 95% limit of agreement were −1.321 to 1.229 diopter for the Pentacam and AK, −1.478 to 0.536 diopter for the Pentacam and IOLMater, and −1.026 to 0.178 diopter for the AK and IOLMater. The mean interdevice difference in ACD for the Pentacam v U, Pentacam v IOLMater, and U v IOLMater were 0.103, 0.099, and −0.004 mm, repectively. Meaurement of ACD by the Pentacam differed tatitically ignificantly from thoe of U (P < .05) and IOLMater (P < .01). For meaurement of ACD, 95% limit of agreement were −0.197 to 0.404 mm for the Pentacam and U, −0.169 to 0.367 mm for the Pentacam and IOLMater, and −0.332 to 0.324 mm for the U and IOLMater.
Concluion
For ome clinical application, meaurement of ACD and corneal curvature with the teted machine may differ greatly and therefore may not be interchangeable.
