Abstract :
Purpoe
To analyze the ditribution characteritic of ocular fungal iolate and antifungal uceptibility in vitro.
Deign
A retropective cae-erie decriptive tudy.
Method
Two thouand one hundred and eventy-nine pecimen collected from Tongren Hopital during 2001 to 2004 were identified at the Beijing Intitute of Ophthalmology. Fungal culture-poitive rate, antifungal uceptibility in vitro, and genu ditribution of poitive culture were analyzed retropectively. For the fungal culture-poitive ample, the gender and age of the patient, the location of ocular involvement, and the eaon of the onet of mycotic ocular dieae were tudied. The fungal poitive iolate were ubjected to antifungal uceptibility teting.
Reult
Out of 2,179 pecimen, 681 pecimen were poitive culture. The culture-poitive rate wa 31.25%. Out of 681 pecimen of poitive culture, 591 pecimen were from the cornea, 29 from the aqueou humor, 22 from the conjunctiva, 22 from the vitreou body, one from the lacrimal ac, and 16 from the other ite. Fuarium pecie wa the mot common pathogen identified in 394 (57.86% of poitive culture), followed by Apergillu pecie in 116 (17.03% of poitive culture). Out of 681 poitive culture, the enitivity in vitro to natamycin, terbinafine, itraconazole, and fluconazole were 608/681 (89.28%), 467/681 (68.58%), 260/681 (38.18%), and 101/681 (14.83%), repectively. Three hundred and ixty-eight (93.4%) of Fuarium pecie were enitive to natamycin, 107 (92.2%) of Apergillu pecie were enitive to itraconazole.
Concluion
Fuaruim pecie wa the predominant pathogen, which reulted in mycotic ocular dieae in northern China, followed by Apergillu pecie. Mot of the Fuaruim pecie were enitive to natamycin, and mot of the Apergillu pecie were enitive to itraconazole.
