Deign Propective, interventional cae erie. Method In 2,643 conecutive eye of 1,968 patient undergoing cataract urgery, occurrence of IFI and ue of α1 antagonit were recorded. Reult IFI wa oberved in 29 eye (1.1%) of 25 male patient, all of whom were receiving α1 antagonit. In thoe receiving ytemic tamuloin, α1A elective antagonit, IFI developed in 25 (43.1%) of 58 eye. In thoe receiving ytemic naftopidil, α1A and α1D antagonit, IFI wa found in 4 (19.0%) of 21 eye. There wa no cae of IFI in patient who received other ytemic α1 antagonit and in eye treated with bunazoin eyedrop, a nonelective α1 antagonit. Concluion IFI occurred in 1.1% of cae treated with ytemic α1A-adrenoceptor antagonit for benign protatic hypertrophy. Topical nonelective α1 antagonit did not induce IFI. Article Outline Reference
