Purpoe Punctal plug are ued in patient with dry eye yndrome to preerve the tear. In thi report, I preent two cae of Apergillu fumigatu colonization of punctal plug. Deign Obervational erie of two cae. Method Approval wa obtained from the intitutional review board. Two men aged 29 and 31 year developed black pot inide the hole of punctal plug, which looked like eyeliner depoit. The depoit inide the hole of the plug in each patient were removed and cultured. Reult Culture of the two punctal plug black depoit grew A fumigatu. Bacterial culture were negative. Concluion Colonization of the punctal plug hole with A fumigatu wa oberved in two cae. It i recommended that punctal plug be removed in patient undergoing refractive or intraocular procedure or in patient who are receiving topical corticoteroid. Current punctal plug hould be redeigned to avoid the preence of an inerter hole.
