Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the relationhip between retinal enitivity and thickne of the macular edema aociated with branch retinal vein occluion (BRVO).
Deign
Propective cae erie.
Method
We propectively examined 15 eye of 15 patient with macular edema aociated with BRVO. In each patient, retinal enitivity in the macular area wa examined with the Micro Perimeter 1 (MP-1); retinal thickne wa meaured by optical coherence tomography (OCT). Eye with marked retinal hemorrhage or macular nonperfuion were excluded from the current tudy.
Reult
Retinal enitivity meaured with the MP-1 wa ignificantly correlated with retinal thickne in the fovea (R2 = 0.460) and in all extrafoveal region (R2 = 0.383 to 0.794). In four eye treated with triamcinolone acetonide, retinal enitivity howed marked improvement in parallel with the reduction of the macular edema.
Concluion
Retinal enitivity in the macular area correlate linearly and negatively with increaed retinal thickne in eye with BRVO.
