Abstract
Purpoe
To determine the aociation of central corneal thickne (CCT) and viual field progreion in patient with chronic primary angle-cloure glaucoma (CPACG) with low intraocular preure (IOP).
Deign
Retropective, comparative cae erie.
Method
A total of 163 eye with CPACG and utained IOP <18 mm Hg were included. Initial and three-year after mean deviation (MD) on Humphrey field analyzer and CCT with ultraonic pachymetry were recorded. On the bai of the CCT value, the ample wa plit in two group (group 1 <540 μm; group 2 ≥540 μm).
Reult
Mean CCT wa 525.8 ± 11.6 μm in group 1 and 574.4 ± 24.0 μm in group 2. There wa no ignificant difference for initial MD (P = .979), but a ignificant difference wa found between two group for follow-up MD (P = .023).
Concluion
Patient with CPACG with a thinner cornea are at greater rik for viual field progreion even if they maintain a low IOP after treatment.
