hort-term Intraocular Preure Trend After Intravitreal Triamcinolone Injection

Purpoe To report the trend in intraocular preure (IOP) within the firt week after intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog) for the treatment of retinal dieae. Deign Retropective chart review. Method Review of 43 conecutive patient and 50 intravitreal injection of 4 mg triamcinolone acetonide. Analyi of the effect on IOP wa performed. Reult The mean preinjection IOP wa 14.60 ± 3.71 mm Hg (mean ± D) (range, 9 to 26 mm Hg). The mean potinjection IOP (30 minute after injection) wa 19.64 ± 7.43 mm Hg (range, 5 to 45 mm Hg). Mean IOP change before and after injection wa 4.83 ± 7.10 mm Hg. The mean IOP one to two day after injection wa 15.32 ± 4.41. mm Hg (range, 6 to 27 mm Hg). The mean IOP five to even day after injection wa 15.94 ± 4.86 mm Hg (range, 5 to 28 mm Hg). Concluion Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide injection in thi limited erie doe not caue a marked increae in IOP within the firt week after the procedure.
