Abstract :
Purpoe To compare three type of digital image for aement of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) defect: red-free RNFL image, color nonmydriatic image, and digitally converted nonmydriatic red-free fundu image. Deign Diagnotic tet comparion. Method Ninety-five image et of three type image were evaluated. Converted image were acquired from nonmydriatic digital image by converting them into red-free, monochromatic image with graphic oftware. Taking RNFL image a tandard, the enitivitie/pecificitie of nonmydriatic digital color and converted image were evaluated for detecting wedge-haped defect (WD) or diffue atrophy. Reult In term of WD, the enitivity/pecificity of converted image were 85.7%/95.5%, and thoe of nonmydriatic were 83.9%/91.0%. Regarding diffue atrophy, the enitivity/pecificity of converted image were 60.0%/97.8%, and thoe of nonmydriatic were 60.0%/98.9%. Intragrader/intergrader agreement for converted image were 0.849/0.793 (WD) and 0.417/0.614 (diffue atrophy). Concluion Converted nonmydriatic fundu image without pupillary dilation are a effective a conventional red-free RNFL image for detecting WD.
