Abstract :
Purpoe To decribe the type and prevalence of long-term, etablihed peudophakic dyphotopia in a typical population more than a year after cataract extraction. Deign Cro-ectional obervational tudy. Method Fifty-five patient who had undergone cataract urgery more than a year before were adminitered a quetionnaire that wa baed on photographic image of photic phenomena. Reult Dyphotopia were found in 18 of 55 patient. There wa a predominance of halo and tarburt effect but alo ubtantial ymptom of arc effect, tream of light, and central flah. There wa no correlation between meaured dyphotopia and age, final attained acuity, or contrat enitivity. Concluion Dyphotopia in the operated eye wa till a common ymptom in it many form more than a year after uncomplicated cataract urgery. There wa no correlation of ymptom with age or viual function.
