Xanthogranuloma of the Iri imulating Melanoma in an Adult

Purpoe To report a cae in an adult of xanthogranuloma of the iri that clinically imulated iri melanoma. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Clinical and hitopathologic examination of iri ma obtained from a 77-year-old white woman. Reult High-frequency ultraonography of the right eye revealed a mall, echodene leion involving the iri root. The ma revealed hitopathologic feature identical to juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG), including hitiocyte and lymphocyte mixed with multinucleated giant cell, and eoinophilic leukocyte. The hitiocyte tained poitive for CD68, CD45, and factor XIIIa and negative for -100 and CD1a. Concluion Xanthogranuloma of the iri can occur in elderly patient. uch leion hould be conidered in the differential diagnoi of iri melanoma.
