Aement of Inflammation in Idiopathic Orbital Myoiti With Fat-uppreed T2-weighted Magnetic Reonance Imaging

Purpoe To evaluate the inflammation in idiopathic orbital myoiti by fat-uppreed T2-weighted magnetic reonance imaging (MRI). Deign Obervational cae erie. Method The inflammation in nine patient with orbital myoiti wa evaluated with fat-uppreed T2-weighted MRI within three week of onet. Patient were mainly treated with teroid pule therapy and followed to the acute improvement or chronic ocular motility retriction phae. Reult Each patient wa found to have localized inflammation in the extraocular mucle or aociated facial tructure. Of the five patient with acute improvement, none had inflammation of the extraocular mucle, wherea the four patient with chronic ocular motility retriction had inflammation of the extraocular mucle. Concluion Thee reult ugget that acute or chronic pattern in orbital myoiti i correlated with the localized inflammation. The inflammation in the extraocular mucle may be one of the factor that lead to the chronic ocular motility retriction.
