Viual acuity (VA), refractive correction, axial length, corneal diameter, preence or lack of foveal light reflex, a well a fluorecein angiogram (FA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) can of the maculae were evaluated. Reult None of the eight eye had a foveal light reflex, correponding to lack of a normal foveal pit on OCT. Fluorecein angiography howed no normal foveal avacular zone; all were either completely abent or mall and rudimentary. Concluion Nanophthalmic patient rarely have bet-corrected viual acuity (BCVA) better than 20/40 at any point in their live, even with an abence of known complication, uch a uveal effuion or glaucoma.
