Abstract :
Purpoe To report the 12-month follow-up reult of ubfoveal polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (PCV) patient treated with indocyanine green angiography (ICGA)-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT). Deign Interventional, noncomparative cae erie. Method A retropective analyi of the clinical and angiographic data related to 47 PCV eye that were followed up for 12 month wa carried out. The greatet linear dimenion (GLD) for PDT wa determined baed on the ICGA finding. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) alo wa ued to evaluate the therapeutic effect. Reult The mean logarithm of the minimum angle of reolution viual acuity (VA; 0.58 ± 0.37) ignificantly improved to 0.53 ± 0.38 at three month (P = .04) and to 0.46 ± 0.40 at 12 month (P = .02). The average ICGA GLD (2682.3 ± 1026.9 mm) wa ignificantly (P = .0001) maller than the preumed fluorecein angiography (FA) GLD (4043.6 ± 1914.8 mm). In more than 80% of cae, complete reolution of retinal exudative change wa oberved. Although polypoidal vacular leion diappeared in 82.2% of eye, the branched vacular network howed little change. The initial VA and GLD had little correlation with the VA outcome. Concluion ICGA-guided PDT reduce the ize of laer expoure and i an effective treatment for PCV. Becaue PCV may appear a occult choroidal neovacularization (CNV) on FA, PCV hould be diagnoed uing ICGA before treatment becaue PCV may repond differently than CNV to appropriate treatment.
