The Rik of Retinal Detachment in High Myopia After mall Inciion Coaxial Phacoemulification Original Reearch Article

Purpoe Report incidence and rik of retinal detachment (RD)after coaxial phacoemulification in high myopic patient. Deign Retropective conecutive interventional tudy. Method etting: Vium-Intituto Oftalmologico de Alicante, pain. patient or tudy population: A total of 439 eye from 274 high myopic patient with pherical equivalent (E) ≥ 6.00 diopter (D) or axial length ≥ 26.00 mm. Mean age 62.2, axial length 27.88 ± 2.11 mm (26.0 mm to 37.9 mm), E –13.3 ± 5.6 (–6.00 D to –46.0 D). main outcome meaure: Incidence of RD, vitreou lo, and neodymium yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) capulotomy were evaluated after urgery at one, three, ix, and 12 month then annually with mean follow-up 61.5 ± 29.6 month. Reult Incidence of RD wa 2.7% (12/439 eye). In eye with ≤ 50 year of age wa 3.65% (three eye) compared with eye with > 50 year of age wa 2.52% (nine eye). Cumulative rik of RD development by Kaplan-Meier analyi in all patient wa 0.47%, 0.71%, 1.71%, 2.59%, and 3.28% at three, ix, 15, 48, and 63 month until 105 month, repectively. In eye ≤ 50 year of age: the rik increae to 1.23% at three month and 4.46% at 63 month until 147 month, wherea eye with > 50 year of age wa 0.58% and 2.96% at ix and 52 month until 118 month after cataract urgery, repectively. No ignificant correlation wa found between the occurrence of RD and vitreou lo (P ≤ .33) or Nd:YAG capulotomy (P ≤ .50 Chi-quare tet). Concluion The incidence of RD in high myopic patient after coaxial phacoemulification i 2.7%. A trend toward an increaed incidence and rik in patient younger than 50 year of age wa detected in thi tudy.
