Abstract :
Purpoe
To correlate the tructural and functional retinal defect, which are induced photochemically in chronic olar retinopathy.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
Four emmetropic eye of two patient, previouly diagnoed with chronic olar retinopathy, were evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT), multifocal electroretinography, and fluorecein angiography.
Reult
Viual acuity ranged from 20/80 to 20/50 and all ubject had central and teady fixation. In all eye, OCT demontrated a hyporeflective pace at the level of outer retinal and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) layer, which wa limited to the fovea. The foveal contour wa preerved with normal vitreoretinal interface. Multifocal electroretinogram (mfERG) trace array of the firt-order kernel demontrated attenuated repone extending to a larger area, the para- and perifovea. A foveal RPE window defect wa angiographically evident in all cae.
Concluion
A model of centrifugal neuronal damage i propoed for chronic olar retinopathy, with more functional than tructural neuroretinal defect.
