Abstract :
Purpoe To tudy glitening in ingle-piece Acryof (model A60 and N60; Alcon, Fort Worth, Texa, UA) intraocular lene (IOL). Deign Obervational, longitudinal tudy. Method Conecutive patient with the A60 were examined at 12, 24, and 36 month after urgery; thoe with the N60 were examined 12 month after urgery. Bet-corrected logarithm of the minimum angle of reolution viual acuity, glare teting, contrat enitivity, and wavefront analyi were performed. Any patient with pathologic feature likely to impact viual quality wa eliminated. All IOL were photographed, and glitening were analyzed for ize and denity by a computer program. Reult All IOL had glitening, and neither ize, denity, nor everity index (ize × denity) correlated with acuity, glare teting, or wavefront analyi reult. High patial reolution contrat acuity (patch D) had a borderline correlation (P = .06) with everity index, a did progre over time (P = .04). Concluion All IOL tudied had glitening. High patial reolution contrat enitivity impact and everity progreion over time deerve further tudy.
