Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate noncompliance with follow-up in normal-tenion glaucoma (NTG) upect. Deign Retropective cohort tudy. Method We reviewed 203 patient chart at a univerity eye clinic, identified a NTG upect from a databae of optic dik photograph. Noncompliance wa defined a le than one year of follow-up and/or fewer than two completed viual field (VF) tet. Reult Twenty-two patient (11%) were excluded becaue at leat two VF tet were not ordered. The 181 patient analyzed included 45 (25%) non-White and 16 (9%) non-Englih peaker. Eighty-three patient (46%) were noncompliant. Thee patient were ignificantly younger (50.5 ± 15.0 year v 55.1 ± 12.8 year; P = .028), were more likely to peak Englih (P = .023), and were more likely to have no or unknown health inurance (P < .001). Concluion Almot half of NTG upect lacked appropriate follow-up. Lack of health inurance may be a ignificant barrier to compliance with follow-up in thi population.
