Abstract
Purpoe
To evaluate change in anterior chamber (AC) morphology induced by cataract extraction uing anterior egment optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Deign
Propective comparative obervational cae erie.
Method
Thirty-two eye of 32 patient underwent OCT imaging of the angle before and after cataract urgery. Anterior chamber depth (ACD), angle opening ditance at 500 μm (AOD500) and trabecular-iri pace at 500 μm (TIA500) were meaured pre- and potoperatively. Preoperative len thickne (LT) and len poition (LP) were calculated.
Reult
ACD, AOD500, and TIA500 increaed ignificantly after cataract extraction (P < .001). Preoperatively, ACD and LT highly correlated (P = .0083) a did ACD and TIA500 (P = .0001). TIA500 correlated with LP (P = .0001) but not with LT (P = .74).
Concluion
Change in angle morphology after cataract urgery can be imaged and objectively quantified by anterior egment OCT. Len poition may have a greater influence on angle width than LT.
