Abstract :
Purpoe To compare the diagnotic accuracy of the Moorfield regreion analyi (MRA), parameter, and glaucoma probability core (GP) from Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph (HRT) 3 (Heidelberg Engineering, Heidelberg, Germany) with MRA and parameter from HRT II in dicriminating glaucomatou and healthy eye in ubject of African and European ancetry. Deign Cae-control intitutional etting. Method eventy-eight glaucoma patient (44 of African ancetry, 34 of European ancetry) and 89 age-matched control (46 of African ancetry, 33 European ancetry), defined by viual field and elf-reported race were included. Imaging wa obtained with HRT II, and data were exported to a computer with the HRT 3 oftware uing the ame contour line. Area under the receiver operating characteritic (ROC) curve (AUC), enitivity, and pecificity were evaluated for the entire group, the African ancetry group, and the European ancetry group eparately. Mean dik area wa compared between correctly and incorrectly diagnoed eye by each technique. Reult Dik, cup, and rim area from HRT 3 were lower than HRT II (P < .0001). AUC (enitivity at 95% pecificity) wa 0.85 (54%) for vertical cup-to-dik ratio (VCDR) HRT 3, 0.84 (45%) for VCDR HRT II, and 0.81 (44%) for GP at the temporal ector. MRA HRT 3 howed greater enitivity but lower pecificity than HRT II for the entire group, the African ancetry group, and the European ancetry group. GP claification had the lowet pecificity. Glaucomatou eye incorrectly claified by GP had maller mean dik area (P = .0002); control eye incorrectly claified had greater mean dik area (P = .015). Concluion VCDR from HRT 3 howed higher enitivity than HRT II and GP for the entire group and for thoe of African ancetry and of European ancetry eparately. enitivity of MRA improved in HRT 3 with ome trade-off in pecificity compared with MRA of HRT II. GP yielded erroneou claification aociated to optic dik ize.
