Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate the reult of corneal wavefront (WF)-guided enhancement in patient with night viion ymptom and ignificantly high poitive pherical aberration (A) after myopic laer refractive urgery. Deign Noncomparative, interventional cae erie. Method Twenty-eight eye of 20 patient with ignificant night viion ymptom and poitive corneal A (Z40) higher than 0.5 μm after myopic laer refractive urgery were included in the tudy at Vium-Intituto Oftalmologico de Alicante, pain. Enhancement urgery wa planned to remove reidual refractive error and corneal A (Z40) in all cae. All patient underwent corneal WF-guided excimer laer retreatment uing the EIRI/CHWIND excimer laer ytem (chwind Eye Tech olution, Kleinotham, Germany). The main outcome meaure were viual ymptom, change in corneal A (Z40), and corneal aphericity (Q-value). Reult ubjective report of night viion ymptom were improved in all patient. Mean corneal A (Z40) decreaed from 0.75 ± 0.19 μm before urgery to 0.43 ± 0.42 μm after urgery (P < .001). Mean aphericity in the 4.5-mm zone ignificantly decreaed from 1.02 ± 1.07 before urgery to 0.52 ± 0.88 after urgery (P = .008), and the mean aphericity in 8 mm did not change ignificantly (P = .362). The mean pherical equivalent ignificantly hifted to hyperopia from −0.22 ± 1.14 diopter (D) before urgery to 0.33 ± 0.54 D after urgery (P = .025). Concluion Cornea wavefront-guided retreatment wa effective in improving ubjective night viion ymptom, reducing corneal A, and decreaing aphericity in eye that underwent myopic laer refractive urgery.
