Purpoe To report a erie of patient in whom infectiou cleriti developed after vitreoretinal urgery. Deign Interventional cae erie of four patient. Method Medical record of patient at a ingle intitution in whom infectiou cleriti developed after vitreoretinal urgery were reviewed. Reult In three patient, infectiou cleriti developed after 20-gauge par plana vitrectomy, and in one patient, infectiou cleriti developed after a cleral buckling procedure. Three cae were had poitive culture reult; the identified organim were Peudomona aeruginoa in two cae and methicillin-reitant taphylococcu aureu in one. The fourth patient did not have culture reult but reponded rapidly to empiric treatment with moxifloxacin. In one patient, urgically induced necrotizing cleriti ubequently developed. Concluion Although infectiou cleriti i an uncommon complication after vitreoretinal urgery, it hould be a conidered caue in patient with peritent potoperative pain and inflammation.
