Abstract :
Purpoe
To examine retinal enitivity in the macular area of eye with reolved central erou chorioretinopathy (CC).
Deign
Retropective chart review.
Method
We tudied retropectively the medical record of 21 patient (21 eye) with reolved CC. Uing pectral-domain optical coherence tomography (D-OCT), 6 × 6-mm area of macula were examined with 256 equential horizontal can. Microperimetry in the macular area wa performed with the Micro Perimeter 1 (Nidek, Vigonza, Italy). eventy-two meaurement point were located within the central 10 degree of the macula.
Reult
In eye with reolved CC, mot OCT image howed a phyiologically normal appearance. However, irregularitie of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) were detected in 11 eye, and focal defect of the junction between inner and outer egment (I/O) of the photoreceptor were noted in 15 eye. Thee abnormalitie often were een within the foveal region. At 983 (79.8%) of 1,232 point with intact retina, retinal enitivity wa 16 decibel (dB) or better. However, a retinal enitivity of 16 dB or better wa obtained at 34.0% of point with irregular RPE and in 20.0% of point with defect of the I/O. The mean retinal enitivitie within the area with irregular RPE (13.4 ± 4.8 dB) or with defect of the I/O (11.5 ± 4.2 dB) were ignificantly lower than that of intact retina (17.5 ± 2.4 dB; P < .0001).
Concluion
Eye with reolved CC often how focal area with reduced retinal function, which are conitent with irregularity of the RPE or with defect of the I/O.
