Abstract :
Purpoe
To determine the characteritic of ubretinal fluid (RF) bleb after ucceful cleral buckling with cryotherapy a a treatment for rhegmatogenou retinal detachment (RD) and to invetigate their poible origin.
Deign
Retropective cae erie.
Method
The incidence of RF bleb and the temporary apect aociated with the appearance and diappearance of the leion were analyzed. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) wa ued to confirm RF and indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) wa carried out to evaluate choroidal circulation in ome of the cae.
Reult
RF bleb wa oberved in 11 (9.3%) of 118 cae with the hitory of ucceful cleral buckling and cryotherapy. The leion were detected 8.7 ± 5.5 (mean ± tandard deviation [D]) week after complete retinal reattachment, and the mean ± D period required for the diappearance of the leion wa 4.7 ± 3.4 month. RF were verified by OCT in five cae of macular involvement. ICGA revealed choroidal vacular congetion and hyperpermeability near the leion in three of four cae, and thee vacular abnormalitie remained unchanged after the removal of the cleral explant.
Concluion
RF bleb after ucceful RD urgery diappear pontaneouly within one year. The origin of the leion may be aociated with choroidal vacular change reulting from cryotherapy.
