Clinical Coure and Treatment Outcome of orby Fundu Dytrophy Original Reearch Article

Purpoe To analyze the natural hitory of orby fundu dytrophy and the effect of variou treatment method for choroidal neovacularization (CNV) in thi dytrophy. Deign Hitorical cohort tudy. Method A cohort of 42 patient with the er181 Cy TIMP3 mutation were identified from the electronic databae of genetic retinal dieae in Moorfield Eye Hopital. Retropective analye of cae record were carried out. erial bet-corrected viual acuity, fundu finding, age at onet of CNV, initial location of CNV, time taken for CNV to progre to ubfoveal location, and the interval between development of CNV in the firt and econd eye were recorded. The time taken for CNV to recur to a ubfoveal location in patient in whom argon laer photocoagulation wa carried out for extrafoveal CNV alo wa documented. In cae where photodynamic therapy (PDT) wa carried out for ubfoveal CNV, the viual outcome, number of PDT treatment, and progreion of leion ize were noted. Reult The median age at onet of CNV in the firt eye wa 46.1 year and in the econd eye wa 50.3 year. The mean interval between the development of CNV in the firt and econd eye wa 4.5 year. The median age at which viion fell to 20/200 or below wa 48 year (firt eye) and 54 year (econd eye). Argon laer therapy and PDT are not effective in treating CNV of patient with thi dytrophy. Antiangiogenic agent may be more effective in thi condition. Concluion The main caue of blindne reulting from thi dytrophy i CNV. Antiangiogenic agent may be ueful in preventing viual lo a a reult of thi condition.
