  • Abstract
Purpoe To ae the role of bevacizumab in inflammatory ocular neovacularization. Deign Retropective, multicenter, conecutive cae erie of inflammatory ocular neovacularization. Method Patient with inflammatory ocular neovacularization of varying caue for whom tandard therapy failed were treated with intravitreal injection of bevacizumab. Main outcome meaure included improvement of bet-corrected viual acuity (BCVA) expreed in logarithm of minimum angle of reolution unit, repone of inflammatory ocular neovacularization by funducopy and angiography, and decreae in central foveal thickne a meaured by optical coherence tomography at the three-month follow-up. Reult At the three-month follow-up, 84 eye of 79 patient had been treated with a mean of 1.3 injection (range, one to three). Thirty-four eye howed juxtafoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV), 34 eye howed ubfoveal CNV, eight eye howed peripapillary CNV, and 11 eye howed neovacularization of the dic (NVD) or neovacularization elewhere (NVE). BCVA improved 2.4 line from 0.68 (6/28 or 20/94) to 0.44 (6/17 or 20/55) (P < .001). BCVA improved by one to three line in 34.5% of the eye, by four to ix line in 16.7% of the eye, and by more than ix line in 14.2% of the eye. Function wa unchanged in 23.8% of the eye. BCVA worened in 10.7% (zero to three line in 7.1%, more than four line in 3.6%). Central foveal thickne decreaed from baeline 346 to 252 μm (P < .001). For CNV, 32 eye (43.2%) had complete regreion after the injection, 27 (36.5%) had partial regreion, five (6.8%) had no repone, and 10 eye (13.5%) were not evaluated by the contributor. For NVD or NVE, even eye (63.6%) had complete regreion of new veel and four eye (36.4%) had partial regreion after the injection. Concluion Intravitreal bevacizumab led to hort-term ignificant viual improvement and regreion of inflammatory ocular neovacularization in a wide variety of inflammatory ocular dieae.
