Abstract :
Purpoe
To determine the relationhip between central corneal thickne (CCT) and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickne obtained by canning laer polarimetry (GDx-VCC; Carl Zei Meditec, Dublin, California, UA), confocal canning laer ophthalmocopy (HRT II; Heidelberg Engineering, Heidelberg, Germany), and optical coherence tomography (tratu OCT; Carl Zei Meditec).
Deign
Multicenter clinical trial, retropective cro-ectional tudy.
Method
One hundred and nine healthy ubject from the Advanced Imaging in Glaucoma tudy were enrolled in thi tudy. All ubject had a tandard clinical examination, including viual field (VF) and good-quality can from all three imaging device. CCT wa meaured uing an ultraonic pachymeter. A linear mixed-effect model wa ued to ae the relationhip between RNFL thickne and CCT, accounting for clutering of eye within ubject, teting ite, ethnicity, family hitory of glaucoma, axial length intraocular preure, and VF global indice.
Reult
For OCT and GDx, there wa a light nontatitically ignificant poitive relationhip between CCT and RNFL thickne. For HRT, there wa a light nontatitically ignificant negative relationhip between CCT and RNFL thickne. Relationhip for each device were found to differ between ite.
Concluion
CCT wa not tatitically ignificantly related to RNFL thickne in healthy eye.
