Maximizing atifaction with Prebyopia-Correcting Intraocular Lene: The Miing Link Original Reearch Article

Purpoe To critically analyze recent tudie of prebyopia-correcting intraocular lene (IOL) and to examine opportunitie to enhance patient atifaction further. Deign Perpective. Method Literature review and commentary. Reult Although overall patient atifaction with the currently available prebyopia-correcting IOL remain high, it i not uniform. Current accommodating or multifocal IOL deign are hampered by limited accommodative ability or reduced contrat enitivity and photic phenomenon, repectively. Toric IOL and IOL inerted through maller inciion minimize potoperative wound healing change. Better aement of total ocular characteritic, including corneal wavefront and pupil ize and dynamic, will allow further IOL cutomization to each patient. Concluion Potoperative modification of IOL may offet variation in potoperative healing that cannot be predicted before urgery. Further method to ae and modify neural adaptive capability are needed. Newer IOL deign may enhance functional depth of field further without compromiing contrat enitivity or inducing photic phenomena.
