Abstract :
In order to evaluate effects of Salix Spp gall’s extract on multiplication and rhizogenesis of the explant’s Salix Alba, this study was conducted in 2009 based on a completely randomized design. Galls extract concentrations were 0, 5, 10, 20, 80 and 100 percents. According to results, increase in concentration up to 20% raised dry weight of explants plumule. The most increase (72%) was observed in 10%. Concentrations over 20% decreased plumule’s dry weight but not significantly. Increase in concentration decreased dry weight of explant’s radicle and the highest concentration had the lower dry weight, although it was not significant. Probably, high quantities of auxin or similar matters are exist in extract and because of lower responding threshold of root to auxin,it has obstructive effect on root. But low concentrations simulate stem growth. Highest branch making of explants was observed in concentration 20%, whereas high concentrations (80% and 100%) reduced it. As auxin to cytokinin ratio is effective in branch making, probably cytokinin and auxin are some of main compounds of extract.
