HBT Filter and Logarithmic Transform Based Edge Detection - A Modified Approach

A modified edge detection algorithm has been presented here that uses logarithmic transform and Hyperbolic Tangent (HBT) filter. The proposed algorithm incorporates Logarithmic transform along with Luminance and Contrast-Invariant Edge Similarity Measure algorithm for edge detection. The proposed algorithm gives a good quality edge detection of images with improved SSIM value and almost equal or higher PSNR values.
