Abstract
In the present investigation, it was of interest to synthesize some new derivatives containing 5-acetyl-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6-methyl 2-oxo- 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine moiety incorporated with different biologicaly active heterocycles such as pyridon, iminopyridines, thiazolidinones, chalcones and 2-alkoxypyridines derivati ves. the antimicrobial activity of some compounds were studied.results revealed that chemical compound no.6a (100^g/ml) gives the highest antimicrobial activity against all tested strain with a mean zone of inhibition equal 8.5mm followed by 3a,5a and 6b(100^g/ml);7.0mm then 9b (100^g/ml);6.63mm then7b (100^g/ml);6.38mm and 7a,9a and 8a (100^g/ml);4.25,4.24 and 4.1mm respectively.compounds no.6a,6b and 5a were highly effective against ps.orginosus then B.Cereus followed by L.mono cytogene and A.flavus
