Abstract
In this paper, the homotopy perturbation method is extended to investigate the numerical solutions of the complex nonlinear wave equation. To examine the accuracy of the method, the available analytical solutions of the coupled nonlinear differential equations are compared with the homotopy perturbation method. The numerical results validate the convergence and accuracy of the homotopy perturbation method. Finally, the accuracy properties are demonstrated by some examples
