Abstract :
The goal of the study was to evaluate the effect of 2,4-D herbicide on weeds of autumn wheat in Baku region. The assessment was carried out twice each year during five years (1996-2000). Average percentage of weed kill was 89.19% in the first year from which Sisymbrium irio species of weed had 99.19% kill and Lactuca serriola had 54.41% kill . In the second year, weeds markedly were decreased. In the third year, Sinapis arvensis had 98% kill and Convolvulus arvensis showed 45% kill. However, in the fourth and fifth year, average percentage of kill was not pronounced (52.99% and 45.60% respectively). The results demonstrated that usage of 2,4-D herbicide was not appropriate economically from the third year on.
